Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) is a novel and common type of nonthermal plasma which is widely used in various fields of science and technology. Recently large amount of attempts are focused on the applications of this technology in agriculture and food industry. Food surface decontamination and seed germination are two interesting applications of the DBD plasma which can result in a big change in the future industry. Dielectric barrier discharge is the electrical discharge between two electrodes that at least one of the electrodes is covered by an insulating dielectric barrier. Applying alternative high voltage on the electrodes leads to the nonthermal DBD plasma generation at atmospheric pressure. Due to the low temperature of the plasma and working in atmospheric pressure, it has found too many applications in different fields of science and technology.
Enhancedtech-15I is a multipurpose, flexible, novel and facile system which gives the possibility of research in various fields especially food science and agriculture. It provides two common types of power supply to generate an enhanced and powerful DBD plasma. Generation of DBD plasma with a DC pulsed generator, generation of DBD plasma with a sinusoidal 50 Hz voltage with the tunable amplitude, possibility of electrodes distance adjustment and possibility of periodic treatment with the adjustable treatment time are some facilities that can be provided by Enhancedtech-15I.
